Recipe: Peanut Butter Porridge

Peanut butter porridge is a delicious and nutritious breakfast that will keep you full throughout the morning. Here's a simple recipe for making peanut butter porridge at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

  • 1/4 cup of milk of your choice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

  2. Add the rolled oats and salt to the boiling water, stirring occasionally.

  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the oats simmer for about 5 minutes or until soft and tender.

  4. Next, stir in the peanut butter and mix until it is fully incorporated into the porridge.

  5. If desired, add the honey or maple syrup, and stir until thoroughly mixed in.

  6. If the porridge is too thick, add some milk to thin it out to your desired consistency.

  7. Serve the peanut butter porridge hot, garnished with some extra peanut butter or toppings, such as sliced bananas, chopped nuts or berries.

Notes:

  • You can replace the water with milk or use a combination of water and milk for a creamier texture.

  • You can customize this recipe by adding your favourite spices, such as cinnamon or nutmeg, to the porridge as it cooks.

  • Add a small scoop of a good quality vanilla protein powder for a protein boost.

  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less honey or maple syrup.
